CANADIANS TRUST THE PURITY AND GOODNESS OF HEINZ!
For years, there has always been anticipation for the Heinz ketchup to hurry up and pour out of the bottle. The reality is that for more than a hundred years, Heinz has had a special relationship with Canadian consumers of all ages.

Mothers and Fathers. Growing Teens. Busy Couples. Seniors. Heinz is one of the most recognized and trusted brand names in Canada. For most consumers, the Heinz name is synonymous with pure quality food. It's not the same without it.

Where it all began in Canada!
The incredible bond that Heinz has with Canadians began in pre-World War One Leamington, Ontario. In 1909, H.J. Heinz decided to expand to Canada and set-up manufacturing operations at a factory in Leamington, Ontario - right in the heart of the province's agricultural breadbasket.

The Leamington operation first started processing pickles, vinegars, and beans. In 1910 it produced its first bottle of ketchup and two years later started to make cooked spaghetti. Soups joined the production line in 1917 and juices and baby foods followed in the 1930s.

Consumer loyalty to Heinz began in those early days. People recognized and appreciated the purity, freshness and quality inherent in an operation that was able to go from vine to bottle in mere hours!

Heinz Today!
Today, Heinz Canada has products in several key categories: ketchup, condiments and sauces; infant foods; convenience meals in the form of canned beans and pasta, as well as other varieties including tomato juice, pasta sauces and frozen snacks and appetizers.

Heinz's most famous product, ketchup, quickly became an important product for the Leamington operation. Early Heinz Ketchup bottles were actually sealed with corks, which were coated in wax, then covered in foil embossed with the Heinz Keystone logo. Today, Heinz Ketchup bottles have gone through a startling evolution; nowadays upside down and squeezable are commonplace words. Be they glass or plastic, Heinz Ketchup bottles always carried the traditional neckband as a distinguishing Heinz trademark.

With Ketchup as its anchor, the company has been able to establish industry-leading products for all age groups beginning with nutritious baby foods. As the leading provider of baby foods, baby cereal and toddler foods in the country, Heinz offers balanced nutrition, healthy choices and taste appeal in its infant product lines. Also, Heinz Purity Assurance guarantees that all baby food is triple tested in quality, safety, and nutrition.

Established in 1909, Heinz Canada is a leading provider of ketchup, infant food, beans and pasta, tomato juice, pasta sauce and other food products. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Heinz Canada employs approximately 1,000 Canadians at its manufacturing facilities and offices across the country. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the H.J. Heinz Company based in Pittsburgh, PA.
